Plan your visit: How to get to the netherlands

The conference takes place in the city Delft, the Netherlands. The best way to reach the Netherlands is by:

• Plane
  Schiphol Airport (AMS) is the main airport of the Netherlands where most airlines can be found. From Schiphol it is easy to get to Delft by train which takes about 35-50 minutes (depending on the train).
  Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTM) is a smaller airport, where mainly the charter flights will land. To get to Delft, you can take bus 33 (direction Overschie, 25 min.) and take the train from Rotterdam Central (direction Den Haag Centraal) to Delft (10 minutes).
• Train
  Many international trains run to the Netherlands. Many go via either Amsterdam or Rotterdam. From these cities it is easy to get to Delft by regional trains. (Amsterdam-Delft: 1 hour / Rotterdam – Delft: 10 minutes).
• Car
  To get direction on how to get to Delft by car please use Google Maps. Please note that parking is difficult in the city centre and quite expensive. 

Conference Venue: Aula Conference Centre, TU Delft

Located in the heart of the TU Delft campus, the Aula Conference Centre is one of the university’s most iconic buildings. Designed by renowned Dutch architectural firm Van den Broek & Bakema and opened in 1966, the Aula is known for its striking modernist architecture, characterized by its distinctive concrete geometry and dramatic cantilevered roof.

The conference will take place across several rooms within the Aula:

• Foyer – Registration, reception, coffee breaks, and networking throughout the day.
• Auditorium – Main plenary sessions and keynote presentations.
• Frans van Hasseltzaal – Parallel sessions and workshops.
• Commissiekamer 3 – Smaller meetings and breakout discussions.

Interesting facts about the Aula of the TU Delft:

• The Aula is a designated Dutch national monument and a landmark of post-war modernist architecture.
• It serves as the ceremonial heart of TU Delft, hosting academic ceremonies, inaugural lectures, and major university events.
• The building has been a recognizable feature of the Delft skyline for nearly six decades.
• The spacious foyer offers panoramic views of the surrounding campus and provides a vibrant meeting place for students, researchers, and visitors.

How to get to the Aula Conference Centre

The venue can be reached by bicycle, bus, taxi, or a pleasant 20-minute walk through the city and campus.

• By public transport

  From the station, you can take bus 69 (direction TU Campus), bus 455 (direction Zoetermeer Centrum West), bus 172 (direction Station Alexander) or bus 40 (direction Rotterdam Centraal) to busstop Aula.
  The entrance of the Aula Conference Centre is at Mekelweg 5 (Building under no 21: TU Delft Campus map – TU Delft Campus).
• By car
  • Drive via the A13 Den Haag/Rotterdam
  • Take exit 10 Delft-Zuid, TU Delft
  • Take the 1st road to your right (Schoemakerstraat)
  • Take the 3rd road to your left (Christiaan Huygensweg)
  • Around the building is enough parking space
• By Taxi/Uber
  You can book a taxi through ‘Delft Taxi Service’. They also arrange Schiphol airport transfers. Another option for getting around Delft could also be Uber.
• Rent a bike at Donkey
  A bike whenever you need. Simply open the app, find a Donkey near you, and unlock it with your phone.
